Pakistan's pioneering satellite mission, iCube
Qamar, has achieved a significant milestone by successfully entering lunar orbit,
marking a momentous leap forward in the nation's space exploration efforts.
The mission, which aims to conduct imaging
operations from a distance of 200 km, has commenced its six-day experimental
phase following a successful orbit insertion.
Notably, iCube Qamar has completed three orbits
around the moon, according to the Institute of Space Technology, affirming its
operational readiness within the lunar environment.
As testing continues within the lunar orbit, iCube
Qamar is set to maintain its experimental status for an estimated five to six
days.
This groundbreaking endeavor signifies Pakistan's
growing presence in the global space community, with the ceremonial presentation
of the mission's first lunar image to the Pakistani ambassador by officials
from the Chinese agency CNSA underscoring the collaborative spirit driving the
nation's space exploration ambitions.
